Custom software

Less working around.
More getting work done.

Internal tools, customer-facing applications, and integrations for the work your existing software handles badly. Designed, built, and operated by the team behind SightSpec and RecoveryOS.

When software is the answer

Not every problem needs an app.
Some do.

Most businesses run on a stack of tools that each do one job well and hand off poorly. People retype information, reconcile spreadsheets, and chase status across inboxes. Sometimes the right fix is configuration, or an integration between systems you already pay for. Sometimes the workflow is specific enough that a purpose-built tool is the durable answer.

C3 helps you tell the difference before anything is built. When custom software is right, we design and build it end to end: product thinking, interface design, engineering, and the integrations that connect it to the rest of the business.

This isn’t theory. C3 builds and operates its own software products—including SightSpec for home inspectors and RecoveryOS for drone recovery operations—so client work is held to the same standard as software we run ourselves.

Inside the work

Inspection software, built and run by C3.

SightSpec connects field capture, human-reviewed findings, client reports, and the office schedule in one product. C3 designs, builds, and operates it—the same product and engineering discipline we bring to custom work.

The scope

From one integration to a full product.

The smallest build that removes the constraint is usually the right one.

01

Workflow + product discovery

Map the work as it actually happens, find where information is lost or retyped, and decide whether to configure, integrate, or build.

Internal tools

Purpose-built interfaces for jobs spreadsheets and generic tools handle poorly: scheduling, intake, review, reporting, and operations.

03

Integrations + automation

Connect CRMs, calendars, phone systems, forms, and payment tools so information moves once and arrives with its context.

Customer-facing applications

Portals, dashboards, and products your customers use directly, designed with the same care as a marketing website.

How it works

Prove the workflow.
Then build it.

  1. 01

    Discovery

Working sessions with the people who do the work. We document the current process, the constraints, and what success looks like before proposing a build.

  2. 02

    Prototype

A clickable or working prototype of the core workflow, reviewed with real users before the full build is committed.

  3. 03

    Build + integrate

Iterative development with regular reviews, including data migration and the integrations the tool depends on.

  4. 04

    Launch + operate

Deployment, training, monitoring, and a clear plan for maintenance and improvement after launch.

The standard

Built to be
owned and operated.

Scoped before it’s built

Features, integrations, and commercial terms are agreed before development begins. Changes are discussed, not discovered on an invoice.

People stay in control

Where AI assists with drafting, summarizing, or routing, people review and approve the result. SightSpec’s inspection reports work this way.

Designed for the long run

Access control, sensible data handling, and maintainable code are part of the architecture from the start, not an afterthought.

A little more detail

Questions before a software project.

Should we build custom software or buy an off-the-shelf tool?

Buy when a tool fits the workflow with reasonable configuration. Consider building when the workflow is central to how you win or deliver work, when several tools are stitched together to do one job, or when people spend significant time working around the software. We’ll give you a straight answer, including when the answer is not to build.

Can you work with our existing systems?

Usually. Most projects integrate with tools already in place—CRMs, calendars, phone systems, accounting, or industry software—through their APIs or supported import and export paths.

Who owns the software?

Ownership and licensing are set out in the statement of work for each project. Under C3’s standard terms, you receive a license to the final deliverables for use in your business on full payment; if you need a different arrangement, we agree it before work begins.

What happens after launch?

Hosting, monitoring, support, and how improvements are requested are agreed as part of the scope, so it is always clear who maintains the software.
