Building for AI Search Visibility: The Law Firm Demo

A breakdown of how we structure a site to be found and quoted by AI search tools, using the law firm demo as the worked example.

The challenge

When someone asks ChatGPT or Perplexity for a law firm recommendation, the tool returns a short list of named firms assembled from sources it can retrieve, read, and trust. Most law firm websites are effectively invisible to that process — content rendered by JavaScript, no structured data, vague copy a model cannot quote.

We built the law firm demo to show a site engineered for AI search visibility from the ground up. It is a demonstration build, so the full structure is open to inspection. We make no claim about specific AI placements — those depend on factors outside any one site — but we can show, concretely, every signal that makes a site retrievable and quotable.

How the build was approached

01

Make content machine-readable

Every important piece of copy on the demo is server-rendered and present in the raw HTML. Many AI crawlers do not execute JavaScript; if content is assembled client-side, it does not exist to them. This is the first and most-skipped requirement.

02

State facts explicitly with schema

LegalService, Service, and FAQPage schema state the firm's type, practice areas, location, and hours in a format machines parse without guessing. Schema turns inference into fact.

03

Write quotable, specific copy

Models quote specifics, not adjectives. The demo's copy states plainly what the firm does, who it serves, and what to expect — sentences a model can lift verbatim — instead of vague 'world-class representation' language that gives a model nothing to repeat.

04

Shape content as questions and answers

Practice-area pages are built around the real questions a client asks, stated as headings and answered directly in the first sentences. This is the structure AI tools retrieve and quote most reliably.

05

Build the conventional-search foundation

AI answers are assembled from pages that rank in conventional search. The demo is built on a fast, crawlable, well-structured foundation — because without conventional visibility, the AI retrieval step never surfaces the site at all.

What the build demonstrates

A site AI tools can read and quote

The demo demonstrates every structural signal that makes a site retrievable and quotable by AI search — server-rendered content, explicit schema, and specific copy.

Built on a real search foundation

Because AI answers retrieve from conventional search, the demo is built on a fast, crawlable foundation — AI visibility layered on top of SEO, not instead of it.

Honest about what's controllable

We structure the site for visibility; we don't claim guaranteed AI placements. The demo shows the controllable signals done completely and correctly.

Case study · FAQ

Questions about this build.

Can you guarantee my business appears in ChatGPT?

No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. There is no paid placement in organic AI answers. What we can do — and what this demo shows — is structure a site with every signal that makes it retrievable and quotable. Visibility follows from doing that work plus conventional search strength.

How is this different from regular SEO?

It is a layer on top of SEO, not a replacement. The conventional-search foundation is identical; AI search optimization adds machine-readable structure, explicit schema, and quotable, question-shaped copy.

Is the law firm demo a real client?

It is a real build but a demonstration site, not a paid engagement — built to show our AI-visibility methodology on a live, inspectable example.
